Terms & Conditions of Business

Sending a Service Request alone does NOT commit the Sender to paying for any work and/or services to be carried out on a vehicle. Furthermore AVM does not guarantee that any Service Visit will be made or that any work will be carried out on a vehicle due to a Service Request being sent. A separate Agreement for a Service Visit and Scope of Work is required for a Service Visit and associated Scope of Work to be executed by AVM.

Where ''vehicle'' is written in these Terms and Conditions, the word ''vehicle'', howsoever written, is deemed to mean the vehicle, which is described in the Service Request and no other vehicle.

Where ''work'' is written in these Terms and Conditions, the word ''work'' howsoever written, is deemed to mean the agreed scope of services which are described in the Service Request and/or the scope of work confirmed in AVM's formal estimate. The word ''work'' howsoever written, where it appears in these Terms and Conditions excludes any services whatsoever, which are not expressly written as prescribed above.

Where ''agreement'' is written in these Terms and Conditions, the word ''agreement'' howsoever written, is deemed to include the completed on-line Service Request, the corresponding AVM estimate and an agreed date for the work to be carried out on the vehicle. To avoid confusion - all three form the “agreement”.

Customers confirm that the details provided on the Service Request relates to a vehicle that is owned or in the care of the person named in the Service Request and that the named person is authorised to instruct work to be carried out on the vehicle.

Customers are liable for payment in full for the agreed scope of work on the vehicle and/or Service visits upon acceptance of a Service Visit date and completion of the agreed Scope of Works on the agreed date or such other date thereafter that the works are complete if the work cannot be completed on the first Service visit.

Service visits are charged as part of and at the same time as completion of the work. Additional Service visits will be charged for separately and in addition to the agreed Service visits if the work has to be aborted due to unavailability of the vehicle at the agreed location on the agreed date(s).

The custopmer agrees to pay the standard hourly rate charged by AVM for its Technician to AVM for each hour or part thereof if the Technician is delayed in starting and/or completing the work on the vehicle for any reasons or events caused by others except those caused by AVM's suppliers and authorised agents - force majeure excepted.

Customers are deemed to have confirm that the vehicle will be located at the address given on the Service Request on the agreed date that work will be carried out on the vehicle. A minimum call out charge will be made if the work cannot be carried out on the vehicle on the agreed date due to the vehicle not being at or being delivered late to the agreed location.

The Customer agrees to pay all outstanding amounts of money due to AVM for works completed on the vehicle at agreed stages or on completion of the works. AVM reserve the right to charge 1% interest per month or part thereof in addition to the account for late payment of any sums due on completed works or part works where stage payments are agreed.

Where special parts or components have to be ordered and the value of these parts is greater than £100, AVM reserve the right to collect payment for the parts before any work is carried out on the vehicle.

The Customer agrees that AVM and/or it's authorised agents are not liable and do not accept liability for any loss whatsoever due to lack of availability of the vehicle to authorised users or for any period of time and/or any agreed scope and/or lack of scope of work and/or delay in work starting and/or completing on the vehicle or for any other reason in connection with the work or the vehicle or the premises at which the vehicle is/was serviced and/or repaired.
